NFTs are better described as ‘data assets’. Right now, NFTs are best known for being artworks, photos, tickets, and the like. But NFTs hold different forms of data. The non-fungible token structure is better described as data-as-an-asset, as data assets refer more generally to blockchain assets and varied forms of monetizable elements. These can include cryptocurrency, personal data, forms, filings, etc. Basically, data-as-an-asset is any secured or registered element in DLT.
